I have to admit that I like Facebook. It's been a while now since it was strictly a college kid thing and chances are, you know a lot of people that are on it now. Friends from school, etc. I've have located and loaded into Facebook many area ham radio operators. It's free to set up an account. You (typically) use your real name as your handle. You can put down what you're doing at the moment, leave someone a small message, publicize an Internet link of interest and so on.
For small announcements and chit-chat back and forth, I think it's more convenient than stopping everything to make a blog post. Which isn't to say that I am going to give up on Blogspot, it's just (to me) better suited for longer ramblings. Facebook for small posts. Blogspot for permanent facts. Facebook for what no one will care about in a day or two.
So, if you want to see some of my more half-baked ideas before they make it here semi-baked, look me up -- Scott Haley -- on Facebook.

One good thing is that you can set your blog post to appear as a Note on facebook. At least I can with mine. Poke around and see if you can do that. Then when you post for your blog, you don't have to duplicate your efforts to also hit your facebook friends.
